ITV broadband - 02/05/2007

ITV is launching a new broadband service which will hold all of the broadcaster's shows for up to 30 days.

It means that viewers will be able to watch their favourite ITV programmes online at any time and anywhere.

The shows will originally be streamed live on the site but will then transferred to an area of the site which stores shows for 30 days.

In addition, the site will also contain a host of other extras which are not available on any of ITV's other stations.

ITV.com will also feature a section dedicated to classic shows such as Poirot and Inspector Morse.

These shows will be on the site for the foreseeable future because they are considered to be good enough to watch years after they were made.

ITV's move into broadband TV may pave the way for other major broadcasters to follow suit.
