Energy efficient home moves into Trafalgar Square - 05/12/2007

In an effort to publicise energy efficiency, a life-sized home will be launched in Trafalgar Square.

Offering one-to-one information and a comprehensive carbon efficiency audit, the move is part of the Mayor of London's Climate Change Action Plan.

Six zones are contained inside the house which show energy saving devices and experts will be on hand to talk to visitors.

Ken Livingstone is aiming to reduce the annual household carbon dioxide emissions by 7.7 million tonnes by 2025, according to the BBC.

The house moves into Trafalgar Square until December 16th before it tours other parts of the capital.

Homeowners can save money by simple methods, such as installing energy-efficient light bulbs or using a thermostat with their central heating.
